REN Evercalm: Truly The Best Skincare For Rosacea And Sensitive Skin

I’d have to say that in all the years I’ve been working within the beauty industry, when it comes to skincare, one of the biggest concerns from many clients is in regards to rosacea, and which products work best for reducing the inflammation, redness, and overall appearance.

What is Rosacea?

Rosacea (roe-ZAY-she-uh) is a common skin condition that causes redness and visible blood vessels in your face. It may also produce small, red, pus-filled bumps. These signs and symptoms may flare up for weeks to months and then go away for a while. Rosacea can be mistaken for acne, other skin problems or natural ruddiness.

Rosacea can affect both men and women. But it’s most common in middle-aged women who have light skin. There’s no cure for rosacea, but treatment can control and reduce the signs and symptoms.

Now as far as skincare brands go, I’ve never seen anything as effective in helping rosacea as Evercalm from REN.

Honestly, I’ve actually had clients contact me after using it, just to say thank you because they had previously tried many different products that were recommended, but none of  them delivered the results they were hoping for.

Below is a kit I highly recommend because it includes four products (in trial sizes) within the Evercalm line, so that you can experience each one.

Out of the four products, the anti-redness serum is the most concentrated; therefore it is the most powerful. I’ve actually seen the serum reduce redness on a clients’ face, right after I applied it to their skin. The serum, along with the other products in this set, are repeatedly purchased by my clients because they find them that effective.

Experience the multi-award-winning Evercalm™ range with this value set perfect for travel or trial. This natural skincare set is perfect for anyone looking to treat dry, irritated skin or reduce redness.

*Set includes deluxe minis of Evercalm™ Global Protection Day Cream, Gentle Cleansing Milk, Anti-Redness Serum and Ultra-Comforting Rescue Mask to treat the appearance of redness while calming & soothing.

Use together to decrease skin signs & symptoms of sensitivity in just 21 days* while your skin feels less sensitive over time.

Gentle Cleansing Milk, 50ml

Anti-Redness Serum, 10ml

Global Protection Day Cream, 15ml

Ultra-Comforting Rescue Mask, 10ml

What you can expect:

Reduces redness & irritation. Hydrates while calming and soothing sensitive skin. Skin is less sensitive over time. Re-balances skin natural flora.

Tip: when washing your face, always use lukewarm water. Extreme hot or cold water will exacerbate roseacea.

In addition to skincare for roseaca, I would like to share one of the most effective foundations for helping to dramatically reduce its appearance. In fact, the Co-Founder and CEO of IT Cosmetics, Jamie Kern Lima, has roseace herself, which is why she created the foundation.

This is Jamie, before and after:

And this is what she is wearing: IT Cosmetics CC+ Cream with SPF 50+

Developed with plastic surgeons, a color correcting cream that works beautifully as either a full-coverage foundation, or can be buffed out to a sheer foundation. And it contains an SPF 50+ physical sunscreen. A multitasking beauty miracle that provides clinically tested hydration while diffusing the look of skin imperfections for flawless-looking coverage that won’t crease or crack.

In conclusion, I would like to share a fantastic makeup tutorial from my very favorite British makeup artist, Lisa Eldridge, in which she specifically targets makeup tips for roseaca.

Shampoos For Embracing Your Grey Hair And Becoming a Silver Fox

To me there is nothing more attractive and foxier than grey hair.

And that goes for men and women.

Even as a kid, I remember looking at people with either salt and pepper or completely grey hair, longing for the day when my own hair would be that color.

And that day arrived when I was 27-years old and the person who was cutting my hair at the time said, “Ron…I don’t want to alarm you but you’re starting to get a patch of grey hair on the back of your head.” Well, you would have thought I had won the lottery because I got very excited and said, “Wait…are you kidding me?”

She said, “No…I really mean it. You’re getting grey, Ron. Sorry.”

My face immediately broke into a huge smile, I and said, “Quick, quick…give me a hand mirror and turn the chair around so I can see it in the big mirror!”

And lo and behold there it was, my first patch of grey hair.

Yes, I was finally on my way to becoming what I had admired for so long, a silver fox!

As most of you know, I was a licensed cosmetologist for over 15 years. And during that time I did my best to persuade my clients, both men and women, to stop coloring their grey hair and embrace their foxy fur.

Many of my clients were resistant at first, and some even refused. However, the ones who did listen, ended up loving it and were immensely grateful that I had convinced them to do so.

Not only were they saving money by not coloring their hair, but they also said that they were suddenly getting compliments about the way they looked.

Over the past five years, I’ve seen more and more customers, particularly women, proudly sporting their grey hair. And you have no idea how happy that makes me because I think they look so attractive.

And what I especially think is awesome is that I’m see more and more female editorial models with grey hair, which I feel is sending a positive message to women that not only is it okay to be grey, but it’s also chic, sexy, and something to be proud of.

Grey hair is slowly becoming less and less associated with aging, and more of something to embrace and celebrate.

Here are some images of why I think grey hair is so foxy!

Here is a list of some of my favorite shampoos for grey, silver, or salt and pepper hair that will remove and prevent yellow or brassy buildup, keeping it bright and shiny:
*When using these shampoos, use them every other shampoo.
*When using these shampoos, shampoo twice; leaving the second lather on for several minutes, allowing it do its job.

The Importance And Benefits Of Topically Feeding Your Skin Vitamin C

*not a sponsored post

I am a strong advocate of using vitamin C topically on the skin.

In fact, if I could only choose one powerful multitasking product for my skin, it would most definitely be vitamin C.

Vitamin C is so incredibly important for good skincare because it repairs damaged skin and also prevents any further damage.

Applying vitamin C topically to the skin allows this powerful antioxidant to perform its skin-brightening, hyperpigmentation-correcting and skin tone-evening benefits. It also reminds your skin to produce collagen; therefore, it’s very beneficial when it comes to elasticity and firmness. Additionally, it fights free-radicals which can do a lot of damage to the skin. Vitamin C literally stops free-radicals in their tracks by repelling them from the skin before they can do any harm. And using vitamin C under a sunscreen during the day is like getting double-protection.

About Vitamin C

Vitamin C is the most powerful antioxidant you can use on your skin. However, it is also very fragile. Therefore, you have to make sure the vitamin C product you’re purchasing is stabilized. Vitamin C is also sensitive to light, so be sure the product is not packaged in a clear glass container. For stability and shelf-life, it should be packaged in either a tinted glass container (amber brown or dark blue), or in a totally opaque container. Also, be sure the vitamin C you’re purchasing is in a pump container so that it’s not continually exposed to air. Both these things are very important.

Typically, the most concentrated amount of vitamin C comes in the form of a serum or an oil.

I’ve used both.

Listed below are three of my favorite serums, and one oil.

Now I won’t lie to you, a high-quality, stabilized vitamin C is not cheap. However, as I shared before, if I had to choose only one multitasking skincare product to invest my money in, it would be a vitamin C serum/oil.

First up is C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum from Sunday Riley. I am a HUGE, HUGE fan of Sunday Riley products in general, but her vitamin C serum and oil are the BOMB! I admire Sunday Riley because she is a bio-chemist who also believes in the power of nature. So she blends science with nature, achieving the best of both worlds.

C.E.O. Brightening Serum is powered by 15% advanced Vitamin C, is targeted to quickly fight the look of dullness, dark spots, and discolorations at the source, while minimizing the signs of aging. Skin looks and feels firmer and plumper, as youthful skin bounce and even-tone are restored.

*smells like a freshly peeled orange.

Next up is C.E.O. Glow – Vitamin C and Turmeric Face Oil (also from Sunday Riley)

C.E.O. Glow is a Vitamin C + Turmeric glow-giving face oil that recharges the radiance of your skin. Infused with advanced vitamin C and golden turmeric for instant vibrance and antioxidant defense. C.E.O. Glow delivers cold-pressed, nutrient-rich extracts into your skin, leaving your complexion looking brighter and nurtured.

*note: turmeric has antibacterial properties,  so it’s excellent for acne and other skin conditions.

*smells like a freshly peeled orange, but also has an earthy aroma from the turmeric.

Another one of my favorite Vitamin C serums is OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum

OLEHENRIKSEN Truth Serum is like a daily multivitamin for the skin and our #1 age-defying & vitamin C serum. Ole was an early adopter of vitamin C in skincare, believing that its antioxidant properties and role in promoting collagen make it a crucial ingredient. This potent True-C Complex(TM) and collagen serum helps brighten and firm the skin as it delivers all-day hydration.

*smells like a freshly peeled orange.

And lastly, Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Power Serum

Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Power Serum is packed with a jaw-dropping concentration of 20% THD Ascorbate, the serum’s performance is amplified by the addition of two ultra-powerful antioxidants (3% Vitamin E and 2% Ferulic Acid), delivering a complete and advanced formula for firming and brightening concerns. This rich moisturizing serum is a must to help improve the look of fine lines, firmness, uneven skin tone, texture and brightness.

*note: Several reviews online stated that this product has a very odd aroma. Personally, I love the smell. It’s a combination of nutmeg and cinnamon. And the aroma dissipates very quickly after the application.

So, if you haven’t ever used vitamin C on your skin, or you’re looking to try a different vitamin C product, I can highly recommend these because I’ve used them.

Trust me, your skin will love you for it.
So much so, that it will GLOW!
